Are you there? is to be the fifth feature film by Roberto Santiago, director of hit comedies such as El penalti más largo del mundo (2005), seen by over a million viewers and for which he achieved a Goya nomination for a Best Script. Additionally, he directed Hombres felices (2001), El club de los suicidas (2007) and more recently, Al final del camino (2009), starring Fernando Tejero and Malena Alterio.

The cast is completed by such renowned actors as Carme Elias (Camino, La flor de mi secreto), Miguel Rellán (Días de futbol, Amanece que no es poco, El perro del hortelano) and Luís Callejo (El mal ajeno, Princesas, Al final del camino, or El penalti más largo del mundo). This film was coproduced by Arcadia Motion Pictures and La Zona, owned by brothers Ignacio and Gonzalo Salazar-Simpson. 

It also features Joan Benet as director of photography (Los Totenwackers), Oriol Marcos as postproduction director (Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona, Salvador), production design by Federico García Cambero (Nacidas para sufrir, Mentiras y gordas, El penalti más largo del mundo, La mala educación) and wardrobe by Macarena García (Los abrazos rotos, Son de mar).
