Filming for Blackthorn completed
Blackthorn, a western directed by Mateo Gil, has recently finished shooting after an intense period of nine weeks in Bolivia. Staring Sam Shepard (The murder of Jesse James by the coward Robert Ford, The Notebook), Eduardo Noriega (El Mal Ajeno, Transsiberian, Abre los Ojos), Magaly Solier (La Teta Asustada, Amador) and Stephen Rea (The Harvest, V for Vendetta), this film is a production of both Arcadia Motion Pictures and Manto Films AIE.

This upcoming motion picture was shot in visually spectacular natural scenarios throughout Bolivia. The most mentionable natural scenes were shot in the Uyuni salt flats, the city of Potosí and its surroundings, the Andean plateau, and the city of La Paz. The majority of these locations are situated more than four thousand metres above sea level, but that did not deter the creative team who has ensured an excellent product with a surprising outcome.

The film has currently moved in post production and is set for release at the beginning of 2011.
