Roberto Santiago is the director and writer of El penalti más largo del mundo (2005), one of the highest grossing films of recent years, which was nominated for a Goya for Best Screenplay. He is also director and writer of Al final del camino (2009), starring Malena Alterio and Fernando Tejero, a film that took a leading position in the top ten of the 2009 Spanish box office. Other film credits include El club de los suicidas (2007), a key adaptation in black comedy from the novel by Robert Louis Stevenson, and Hombres Felices (2001), starring Sergi López and Aitana Sanchez Gijón. He debuted as a director with the short film Ruleta (1999), which premiered in the Official Selection at Cannes, winning over 20 International Awards. He is the author of several award-winning dramas (Desnudas, Share 38, El otro lado de la cama, La felicidad de las mujeres). TV series include El síndrome de Ulises on Antena 3.
